Electricity Customer Alliance Submits Letter to House Energy & Commerce Committee for Hearing on AI and the Grid

ECA submitted a letter to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce for its Energy Subcommittee hearing "AI and the Grid: Meeting Growing Power Demand While Protecting Ratepayers."

The letter urges Congress to keep affordability and transparency front and center and outlines the following priorities:

  • Protect ratepayers from unfair cost shifts tied to large load growth.

  • Increase transparency into electricity cost drivers and ratemaking.

  • Accelerate transmission, permitting, and infrastructure development.

  • Deploy near-term solutions like grid-enhancing technologies (GETs).

  • Enable flexible, customer-led solutions like “bring your own power”.
